When the remake of Jumanji was released back in 2017 it immediately entered our list of favourite movies, turning the dramatic original into something utterly hilarious.

And now it seems that the film has been given a level up once again with the trailer for the highly anticipated sequel being released, teasing a movie that honestly looks even FUNNIER (if that’s possible) than the first.

Jumanji: The Next Level of course sees people enter the video game and morph into returning stars, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan, who play the game’s main avatars.

Only this time, there’s a big twist.

While our favourite teenagers all appear to enter the game in order to save their friend Spencer, who they suspect has gone back into the Jumanji jungle, but they don’t enter the game as their initial avatars.

Now prepare yourselves, because as we attempt to set the scene for you here it’s going to get rather confusing with all of the different names! So try to keep up!

Martha, played by Morgan Turner, is the only one who enters the game as her original avatar, the red-headed, dance-fighting champ played by Karen Gillian.

Footy player Fridge on the other hand doesn’t come in as Kevin Hart. He instead takes over Jack Black’s avatar, saying, “Ugh, I’m the old fat dude!” upon realisation.

Now here’s where it gets real confusing. Our other two teens, Spencer and Bethany are no where to be found and instead, The Rock and Kevin Hart’s avatars have been taken over by the new inclusions to the cast, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover.

So yeah, basically watching The Rock and Hart take on the roles of a couple of grandpas is the funniest thing ever, especially when they uncover their strengths and weaknesses… Hart thinks The Rock is having an actual stroke when he puts on his smoulder.

Nick Jonas makes a quick appearance in the trailer, although it’s not known who has taken over his avatar.

Awkwafina from Crazy Rich Asians also joins the cast and Rhys Darby returns as the game master who guides them through each level, Nigel.

All in all, you have to watch the trailer for yourself to understand just how hilarious this is going to be! Catch it in the video above.
