Aussies have gotten into the DIY spirit, big time, with new independent research commissioned by Bunnings revealing that people are using their time spent isolating to tick things off that DIY to-do list.

According to the research, 65 per cent of Aussies had at least one DIY job that remained on the to-do list.

So what are most people DIYing?

Bunnings says that people are spending a lot of time out in the garden before winter, fair enough, although the reason might be a little surprising.

The DIY video “10 fast growing plants for privacy” is Bunnings Warehouse’s most-viewed over the past week.

It seems that people are really buying into this whole isolation thing.

Other jobs at the top of people’s DIY lists right now are decluttering and painting.

But it’s the garden that’s getting the bulk of our attention at the moment, with the hardware store’s national greenlife buyer Alex Newman telling the Herald Sun that demand across all plants has shot up over the last month.

“Seedlings and seeds have been in demand and we are working with our suppliers to increase supply and replenish our stocks,” Newman told the Herald Sun.
