Most gals will have been planning their wedding since they were 7 years of age.
Locking down a man is the hard part tho…
So how long after hooking up with bae can you start planning the insta-worthy big day?
Bridebook.co.uk questioned 4,000 married peeps to find out just how long we deem an adequate amount of time until making the leap.
And the answer isn’t good if you’re impatient…
It turns out the average couple will date for 4.9 years (58.7 months) before getting married.
Sh*t that’s a bit of a wait! And imagine putting in 4+ years and the fella won’t commit!
The site went on to unpack the standard time for each stage of the relationship leading up to the wedding.
Get this, apparently the average couple dates for 17 months before moving in together.
Which sounds kinda alright tbh! We wouldn’t even mind waiting longer cause no one needs the fella messing up your pristine Kmart-kitted room with their shiz.
The ‘standard’ couple will then live together for 22 months before getting engaged and then the misses-to-be will spend another 20 months flashing their engagement ring before the actual big day.
The same report went on to reveal the average age people get engaged (for the first time).
Unsurprisingly, men tend to marry when they’re slightly older than women, with the average age of men locking it down as 32.7 years old and the average for women being 30.8 years.
So if you’re in your early twenties, don’t freak out and sign up for MAFS just yet…
