Sydney’s New Years Eve rules have finally been announced.
The fireworks across the harbour will go ahead, however, the 4,000 front line workers who were given front-row seats to the show, will now not be allowed to attend.
For Greater Sydney, the limit of outdoor gatherings will be reduced to 50 people but the 10 people at home rules remain unchanged.
Any hospitality bookings can be honoured but they must abide by the 4sq/m rule.
If residents are heading to the Sydney CBD for New Years Eve, a permit will need to be applied for via ServiceNSW.
The Northern Beaches (Northern Zone) will remain in lockdown until January 9th at the earliest but for New Years Eve they will be allowed 5 visitors in their home from that area. They are also allowed 5 people in an outdoor setting at all times during lockdown, from the area.
The Northern Beaches (Southern Zone) will remain in lockdown until January 2nd at the earliest but for New Years Eve they will be allowed 10 visitors in their home from that area.
New South Wales recorded 5 new community cases overnight, with over 15,000 tests processed.
