It’s not a good morning to be waking up if you’re an avid social media user, with multiple platforms experiencing issues across the globe.

There are reports of operating issues with applications such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Twitter this morning, although none of the social media apps appear to be experiencing complete outages.

The issues with Facebook appear to be impacting photos, with users reporting that they don’t post or load properly.

Instead, what is showing up is a blank space where the image should be and an AI-generated caption, which is a basic description of what is in the picture, i.e. the amount of people in it or basic objects.

Facebook posted to Twitter saying that they’re aware of the specific issue and are working to fix it as soon as possible.

The Facebook owned apps, Instagram and WhatsApp are also reportedly experiencing issues with certain features.

Users across the globe report that images won’t refresh or load properly on Instagram while WhatsApp won’t send messages preppy that include photos, videos and voice messages.

Instagram has posted a similar message to Twitter saying they are working on the problems.

Lastly, Twitter has also seen issues this morning, with reports that DM’s are not sending properly.

They apologised on their own platform for the inconvenience.

Looks like we’re all going to have to put down the technology and actually talk to each other this morning! At least until all of these issues are fixed…
