Those wishing to travel on public transport in Sydney are no longer required to carry an Opal card to pay for their travel.
Contactless payments are now available on all bus services in the Opal network, bringing it into line with trains, ferries, light rail and Metro services.
If you have an American Express, Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal readers.
Did you hear the good news? The Opal network is now fully contactless, so you can tap on and off using your credit card, debit card or linked device and enjoy the same benefits an adult Opal card offers. 💳📱⌚️ 🙌
