Transgender reality TV star and model, Miriam Rivera, has reportedly died at the age of 38.

Miriam, who appeared in the shows There’s Something About Miriam and Big Brother Australia during the mid 2000s, was reportedly found dead in Mexico back in February 2019, according to Daily Mercury.

The cause of death remains a mystery, however, her husband Daniel Cuervo reportedly suspects foul play was involved as her body was cremated before an autopsy could be performed.

She was best known for headlining the controversial reality dating show There’s Something About Miriam at the age of 21. In the show, six men competed to win her heart before it was revealed in the final episode that she was transgender.

The show was aired on Channel 10 here in Australia and the participating men actually sued the show following it’s controversial ending.

Miriam was then a guest star on Big Brother Australia in 2004 during the reality show’s fourth season.

She entered the house as “Maria” before eventually revealing to the other housemates that she was transgender.
