A man has been apprehended at New Delhi after trying to impersonate an 81-year-old in order to fly to New York.
32-year-old Jayesh Patel was attempting to travel using a fake passport under the name ‘Amrik Singh’ with the birth date of 1st February 1938.
In order to appear 50 years older, Patel disguised himself by dying his beard white, using a wheelchair, and wearing glasses and a turban, according to a statement released by India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
“The appearance and skin texture of the passenger seemed to be much younger than mentioned in the passport,” the CISF said.
In two separate incidents, #CISF nabbed two passengers, one each for impersonation and carrying dual passports at IGI Airport, New Delhi. Passengers handed over to Delhi Police officials. pic.twitter.com/Mo7Gazeeox
